STOP Lights and Artificial Turf at Duchon and Memorial Fields

We are opposed to the proposal for the
following reasons:

• Inappropriate use of school funds in the millions of dollars – Will courses be cut or not added? Will buildings not be properly improved or maintained?
• Costly upkeep on turf fields – Fields would need replacement every 8-10 years. Natural fields are a permanent fixture whereas turfed fields are a consumable that needs replacement.
• Increased traffic, congestion, and parking problems
• Environmental and Health Concerns
• Increased noise
• Light pollution
• Increased litter
• Loss of natural green space to community and Village
• Change to aesthetic character of neighborhood, community, and Village
